I’m a gun owner moving to California. What laws do I need to be aware of?
Written by admin on January 20, 2009 – 4:59 am -I am a proud owner or 2 shotguns of the caliber of antiques 12 (a doesn 't fire just a Heirloom) 1 20 measures the shotgun, a pair of .22 rifles and a .22 revolver. Remain in a locked wooden cabinet. Most are gifts and have already passed? guns from relatives and would secure, legally and properly maintain them for hunting. When moving, what should I be informed? I guess I should also mention that I have a permit to carry a weapon concealed in my state of belonging. I guess it doesn 't apply in CA.

The long guns are not an issue (until? They 're not on the "prohibited" list of weapons - but that shouldn' t is a problem. From a legal standpoint, you 're supposed to register all firearms concealed when entering California (within 60 days) - see. For the latest laws of firearms in California, see. Out - of the condition CCWs there are good here. It 's very easy in some counties get a clockwise (generally the rural Central Valley / mountains) and impossible in other counties (near San Francisco Bay, LA, Santa Barbara area, etc.

Transport your permission will not be right. Your arms all appear to be legal in the condition of California. You should be informed that with the guns, everything is basically illegal unless the action rifle bolt. There are some similar automatic rifles modified as the mini-14 and M1A or .22 s that are legal. All guns are limited to ten round clip. In fact, I think that mini-14s in California all have built in 10 round clip, so you can 't go in Arizona and buy a larger compartment. Basically, any rifle that has a handle or a flash suppressor will not be legal in California (not only across almost all). With revolvers, you are limited to ten-round clip as well. No fully automatic something, of course.
