Did you have access to guns when you were young?

gun cabinet

Another person asked the question here about the danger of firearms to a child in the house. I had to "go back in time" in my mind and remember the day my own very young. My father had a gun in the locker (no locks on it) into the lair where I used to play as much boy. The guns were there, in normal view, however, I learned that I was not allowed near the thing. I have a memory of anything wrong with my start, but I don 't recall what my parents have said or done assicurarseli did not approach all'armadietto ever. Again, it was in the same room that I played with my toys as a child and I were rarely monitored. Of course, the guns were not loaded and as a child, no idea how I upload them. But still, never even went near the thing. Does anyone recall similar circumstances in other youth in their advance?

One of my shotguns I 'the VE had since I was a 12. I kept it in my bedroom, with ammunition. I was responsible for quell'arma firearms, just as they are today and I made a lot more responsible person generally. I 'the VE has not ever been an accidental discharge with a firearm, never. I 'the VE has not ever had the desire to soar a school just because I was a teenager in possession of a firearm, nor have I turned around to shooting the animals just for fun. The real danger in society comes from the punk of 18 years who obtained for the first time his hands on a gun in his life and has not learned the proper respect for firearms. Tend to emulate what they see in Hollywood (means certain liberal pro-gun ban!) Film.

In my house, you had to be high enough to reach the key that hangs from the side dell'armadietto to unlock the gun. To my grandmother 's, was simply a matter of knowing to stay from the shotgun until they were older and we had to ask permission from about age 6 or 8 pick in loan shotty.

You know what? Experience in S.U.A. That stuff just doesn 't happen in the rest of the Western world. I live in the UK. No, I have never seen a firearm as a child. I was fifteen when I have seen and treated an air rifle. Since then sometimes I have seen only once or twice the police and military bearing in specific settings such as airports, more openly in public places. I have not lost anyone ever by a firing squad. I don 't know anyone who has been ferireito the shot. I don 't even know anyone who has been claimed to tip de pistol. And I don 't live a sheltered life, I can navigate pretty close to the wind occasionally. The guns are for the murder and are happy to have so little to do with them as possible.

I have developed up with pistols in the house. I remember my father having a cabinet of gun he had built himself, when he was in High School. My parents have always kept locked. He was among the hall and kitchen. Anyone who has been above the view. You just couldn 't lack of it. Like you, I remember that my brother and I were not allowed never touch. But I don 't recall that it said could never touch. We have known just couldn 't. The only gun that had never had a high locked Percussion Muzzleloader, that of the Woodsman .50 caliber Hawken of traditions is part of the decoration of the hall, as the wall hook. Again, we have made the same rules on us with that gun also.

My dad was the army and was served in Vietnam. It was a LRRP. Was born in the late 80 's. My father had 2 of the gun lockers in the middle of a firearm in his room in a basement and a rack of gun was mounted on the wall in the hall. (NO LOCKS) on the rack was pistol, 1 AR-15 sp-1, one that folds an M-16a1. an M1 Carbine. E 2 shotguns believe the 870 and a 500A. I was told not to touch guns without dad 's permit, I didn' t. As I got older, 8 years I have fired my first rifle. A M1A. I was hooked. I wanted to know everything about guns … all kinds. My dad gave the 22. to keep in my room. 60 macaira model. And the first gun that was bought specifically for me, was a Mosin Nagant M-44 for my fourteenth birthday. For the moment I have had 18 or 10 guns to my name … Including 3 Ak 's. I've been around guns my entire life. That 's because it makes him very mad when people try to eliminate the em …. Or make "some firearms attack Weapons" illegal. I could go all day but I won a 't hope this helped.

Align believe that the problem with firearms today can be followed back to the problem with discipline generally. There? was a very big cultural shift with regard to the relationship of parent-child. I am only 21 but I was raised in a large part of my grandparents. I don 't remember the specific rules regarding the guns that we had in the house (most of them kept unlocked and loaded in any). I understand that simply were not allowed to touch him and if I were, I could predict the belt or the flyswatter (my grandmother? Amazingly quick with a flyswatter). I think it 'good idea of S.A. close pistols key to keeping them from the hands irresponsible or unaware. I think it is even more? important, however, raise children and keep them responsible by the whole reality? (firearms included). People who use firearms because? children are probably less likely to use them irresponsibly, particularly if the parents infondono basic safety.

There? not? a direct response to the request made, but rather a comment on the response left here by my colleague from the United Kingdom. Nessun'offesa, but the British? used to live under a monarchy, constitutional monarchy or some other form of government drive. Applaud the British, because? the structure of law? what we base our own judicial code of the United States. However, I know that many people? came in S.U.A. the United Kingdom and Germany for skilled labor that they did. Once you are in the United States and get a taste of our brand of freedom? (ownership? including firearms), do not ever want to go. Most have applied for citizenship or at least a "card" green (a condition of permanent resident alien). But what the British really need to do? you broadcast to the rest of the world depend on their state government's babysitter. Gradica say anything that others don 't know the deal a firearm to defend themselves or your country. (But because? The entire country of Great Britain the most common small size of the condition dell'Oregon not secure all the goods would try to protect it.)

Yes, there were guns in the home and for some reason, I knew better than to mess with them. However, I remember playing with a one time when nobody was around. As much as it can be a hinderance occasionally in a "situation", in today 's society for the only responsible thing to do is to keep the gun safe. Not a case of gun, not a cabinet of the gun but the gun safe.

S?, I have developed up around guns from the day that is born. The guns were kept unloaded in the house. There was need for a loaded gun in the house because? we have not been crazy idiots facts prove challenging to break into our house in those days. In any case, there were many guns in my house as a child. Are stored in a cupboard and have been taught from childhood, I guess, that were banned. If the tap without specific permission, I would have been shown the error of my senses with a shovel ……. an excellent teaching tool. While I became old enough to hold a gun, about 5 years, I was allowed to shoot with my grandpa. It would remove an old abandoned gravel quarry and shoot the milk. I have heard that there was need? rubacchiare to look around for a gun perch? I would have been eliminated by firing frequently. My bra? about guns? been satisfied on the range. All the pressures that I had to disobey, about anything, were satisfied with the shovel. Equally evil many people have abandoned the use of what? excellent educational tool for fear of little Henry 'offensive; team of auto es s.

I have developed over nell'Alaska - my people were hunters skins … The guns were [and are] just tools. Like other tools that could be dangerous, were kept in a safe place and have been told to leave it alone. I was in greater danger by sled dogs of the dog: bite.

I have long lived with my grandparents when I was young. The Grandpa taught me to shoot when I was 8 and when I was 14 I showed him where I was hiding a loaded revolver in his bedroom. Many, many years later when he and his grandmother were in a nursing home, their homes were sold. I asked my mother if anyone had removed the revolver. His response was, "What revolver? "I was put in contact with the buyer to obtain permission to go home and watch. Sure enough, was still there. (No, I 'm not revealed his post nascondentesi.) I have the grip (with the new owner' s permission) and gave him up to my uncle as my mother didn 't want.

Being that I 'm 17, still remember quite well lol We have a cabinet of the gun and a lock. He storage on the bottom also that 's where munitions are stored. All the guns are unloaded, but the shares have closed because if the shares are open, the springs get consumed more rapidly. I 'm the also on the team modified the local outlet and I have my own pistol in my room. My shotgun is a case in my room with the gun lock through it and the ammunition is on the other side of my room and only me and my family know that here is that 's the same sense with my rifle. I also wasn 't taught how to shoot a gun until they were about 13. But even then the only time I was allowed to be around a loaded gun was around someone else. Now, I 'classes taken gun safety and hunter V' course s security, I can now ask just to get my gun from my room and get some ammunition lle. But my dad hasn 't really taught me how to properly use a gun (in addition to the BB gun). I was taught how to properly use a gun in my car of shotgun and my car is also a gun smith's too.
